A business card can create one of the first impressions of the University of British Columbia. Consistency in design, colour and type is important to reinforce the university’s identity. Please make sure you have read and understood the UBC Stationery Guidelines before ordering business cards.

About the UBC Business Card
The Format of the UBC Business Cards
There are two format options available for UBC Business Cards:
1. UBC Business Card Format 1 (one-column): This format accommodates long line lengths and allows more information to be included on the business card. This format is ideal for individuals, faculties and departments whose information exceeds the available space in the UBC Business Card Format 2.
2. UBC Business Card Format 2 (two-column): The typeface used in this format is slightly larger than in the one column format. This card format is ideal for individuals, faculties and departments whose information is shorter in length.
When ordering UBC business cards select the format that best accommodates the amount of information you need to display on your business card. Please review the information and samples in these documents carefully before completing your order.
If your information exceeds the amount of space available in the business card format, please contact Xerox Global Services at 604.221.4244 or dms@xerox.com for assistance.
Note: Business cards ordered in recent months are still official UBC stationery.
Customizing the Back of Your Business Card
The back of the UBC business card may be imprinted with a custom design. Custom orders are available at a premium price and will be handled outside of the web ordering system. Note: All artwork must be approved by your Unit Head prior to placing an order. Personal or private business information is not permitted. If the custom back includes a unique design or your unit sub-brand, the same design should be used for the whole unit.
To discuss custom pricing, minimum quantities, production and delivery details, please contact your XGS service representative at 604.221.4244 or dms@xerox.com.
Alternative Languages on the Business Card
Alternative languages may be added to the reverse side of the card (side two). UBC employees are responsible for providing the translation. To order a customized back, please contact Xerox Global Services for pricing at 604.221.4244 or dms@xerox.com.
Who Can Use the Official UBC Business Card Template
Only UBC Faculty and Staff are authorized to use the UBC business card template. Undergraduate students, graduate students, and part-time students are not permitted to use official university stationery at this time.
Approving Business Cards
Once your information is entered and you submit your order for proofing, you will have the option to print or email a PDF proof for review and approval. Your order will be held in a “shopping basket” while waiting for approval from your colleagues.
Using Accents (For Example: é, ç or à) in Your Name
If you are using an alternate language keyboard, the accents will appear as you type. If the PDF proof does not look correct you should contact customer service at dms@xerox.com.
Rush Order Costs for Business Cards
There will be a $75 flat fee if you require rush items to be delivered outside of the standard five to eight business days, excluding shipping to any off-campus locations.
UBC Letterhead and Envelope templates are also available.
